Dated Siaha 14th October 2023: Expenditure Observer Shri Dev Prakash Bhamavanat,  IRS, responsible for overseeing election expenditure in the two  Assembly Constituencies -39-Saiha (ST) A/C and 40-Palak (ST) A/C  in Siaha  District, conducted a meeting with  Expenditure Monitoring Team at  DC Mini Conference Room here in the district capital today.

In  the meeting, Expenditure Observer Shri Dev Prakash Bhamavanat emphasized the vital role of expenditure monitoring team  which is to ensure that candidates' spending limit  which is  ₹28 lakh as stipulated by the Election Commission of India (ECI) should be ensured  and asked the Expenditure Monitoring Team to have a constant vigil regardingthe expenses by the candidates and political parties.  He also highlighted that the ECI's aim is to create a level playing field for all candidates, regardless of their affiliation with wealthy or less affluent parties.

Shri Dev Prakash Bhamavanat  urged all team members to have a clear understanding of their duties and responsibilities, emphasizing the importance of diligent execution of these tasks throughout the entire election process. He further engaged in discussions with team members to assess their preparedness and assured them of his availability to address any issues or concerns they may encounter in the election process and asked their cooperation in  the coming election.

The meeting was presided over by Shri Lalhmunsanga Hnamte, District Election Officer (DEO) and followed by introductory remarks from the Returning Officer of 39-Saiha A/C, 40-Palak A/C and members of the Expenditure Monitoring Team.
