Expenditure Observer, Shri Umesh Chandrakant Phade, IRS, responsible for overseeing election expenditure in the three assembly constituencies within Serchhip District, today conducted a meeting with various teams involved in Expenditure Monitoring at Serchhip DC Conference Hall.

During the meeting, Expenditure Observer Shri Umesh Phade emphasized the vital role of expenditure monitoring, which is to ensure that candidates' spending remains within the ?28 lakh limit stipulated by the Election Commission of India (ECI). He stressed that the ECI's aim is to create a level playing field for all candidates, regardless of their affiliation with wealthy or less affluent parties. Shri Phade urged all team members to have a clear understanding of their duties and responsibilities, emphasizing the importance of diligent execution of these tasks throughout the entire election process.

Shri Umesh Phade also engaged in discussions with team members to assess their preparedness and assured them of his availability to address any issues or concerns they may encounter.

The meeting was presided over by Election Expenditure Monitoring Nodal Officer, Shri HD Lalpekmawia, and began with introductory remarks from District Election Officer, Shri David Lalthantluanga. Various teams, including the Video Surveillance Team, Video Viewing Team, Accounting Team, Flying Squad, Static Surveillance Team, Assistant Expenditure Observer Team, Excise Team, and members of the Media Certification and Monitoring Committee, were present at the meeting.
