Mizoram Social Defence & Rehabilitation Board, Social Welfare Department organised training for “Field Investigator for Drug Survey Amongst Minor” today at the SP Conference Hall Aizawl which was graced by the Social Welfare Minister Dr K Beichhua as the Chief Guest of the function.

The Minister highlighted on the significant prevalence of drug abused among the adolescence based on the findings in the recently published 2017 Baseline survey on Extent & Pattern of Drug Use in Mizoram. Dr K Beichhua also pointed out that the survey was in fact the need of the hour and first of its kind in India and expressed his gratitude to the Social Welfare Department and Mr Debashis Mukherjee, International Expert for taking such important initiatives.

The Training inaugural function was chaired by Ms Lalhlupuii, CEO, MSD&RB where over 60 Field investigator would be trained to conduct survey to 124 schools on all the district of the state. The survey will also include about 1500 out of school adolescence. The survey report will be utilised for further reference for plan of action to combat against drugs abused in the state.
