Fire Prevention Week 2021 inaugurated at Lawngtlai

The Fire Prevention Week 2021 to be observed during 8th to 13th of February was inaugurated today at Lawngtlai DC Conference Hall by Chief Executive Member of the Lai Autonomous District Council, Pu Manghmung Chinzah.

The inauguration function was chaired by Chairman of the District Level Committee on Fire Prevention, Lawngtlai District Dr Andrew H. Vanlaldika. District Council Conservator of Forests, LADC Pu K. Lalromawia gave a brief report while Deputy Conservator of Forests (Wildlife) Pu Samson Thanruma proposed a vote of thanks. The gathering also took an oath to protect and preserve forests and wildlife and to prevent fire.

Fire Prevention Week is observed in Mizoram since AD 2000. District level and village level fire prevention award is given away every year since 2009 and Lawngtlai District since secured the first prize in 2010 & 2015, second prize in 2019 and third prize in 2014.
