First level checking and randomisation of EVMs for general election to LADC (MDC), 2020 conducted

Lawngtlai, the 23rd November, 2020: First level checking and randomisation of electronic voting machines (EVM) for use in the general election to the Member of District Council (MDC) under the Lai Autonomous District Council (LADC) to be held on 4th December, 2020 was conducted today at the DC's Conference Hall, Lawngtlai in the presence of representatives of all political parties.

M2 EVMs made by Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) are to be used in this election. Only the control unit and ballot unit (without VVPAT) will be used.

Out of 200 EVMs checked today, a total of 140 fully functional EVMs, 111 for use in the 111 polling stations within 25 MDC Constituencies under LADC and 29 for reserve and training purposes, were randomised.
