Mizoram Minister of State for Fisheries Department Mr. K.Lalrinliana held a meeting today with the Kolasib Fisheries Cooperative Society and Village Farming Cooperative Society, Kolasib to discuss on means and ways to utilise Van Dhan Scheme and Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana more beneficially for the members of these Societies.

The Minister highlighted on the progress of the 5 Fish Hatchery Units in the state, stating that although few eggs were successfully hatched in these units, which was way below the demand of the farmers, but it truly marked a new achievement in fishery development in the state, paving way for a brighter future in Fishery. The Minister also urged the Society members to effectively function as a Cooperative Society and to be well acquainted with Van Dhan Scheme and Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana, so as to make the best use of the schemes.

In today's meeting, Mrs. M.Liansangpuii, ARCS, Kolasib also mentioned that a total amount of Rs.55.75 lakhs had been recently sanctioned for mobilization of 5 Cooperative Societies within Kolasib district.
