Dated Champhai, the 24th, 2021: Fisheries Minister Pu K.Lalrinliana yesterday visited different fish farms maintained by Co-operative Societies, in and around Champhai Town. The Minister was accompanied by Champhai South MLA Pu T.J. Lalnuntluanga, Law & Judicial Minister and Champhai North MLA Dr. Z.R Thiamsanga, Vice Chairman, Health & Family Welfare Board and Government officials, among others.

Pu K.Lalrinliana while appreciating the active participation of Co-operative Societies towards fish farming and related works, he also encouraged the fish farmers to enhance their production rate and try to adopt bulk productivity as he felt that the production rate per land holding/catchment area was far below actual expectation.

The Minister along with line department officials visited fish ponds at Sihzau/Zophai area which were being managed by Champhai Zotlang Fishery Co-operative Society Ltd. and inspected ongoing Hatchery construction under Blue Revolution Project.  The Minister also inspected the proposed site for construction of Hatchery under Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yajona (PMMSY) at a fish pond maintained by Champhai Phaizau Farming Development Co-operative Society Ltd. at Phaizau area.

The Minister who is also in charge of LAD Department visited Hmunhmeltha Village and later visited the proposed site for construction of Ruantlang Mual Veng VC House.
