LUNGLEI; the 24^th October,2023: General Observers   to the General Election of Mizoram Legislative Assembly for Lunglei District.  Shri Satya Narayan Rathore IAS and Shri Pu Avadesh Kumar Tiwari IAS witnessed the 2^nd Randomization of EVMs and Polling Parties, held at DC conference Hall,Lunglei, here in Lunglei, yesterday.  A brief  programme  for the 2^nd Randomization of EVMs and Polling parties  was presided over by District Election Officer, Smt. Ramdinliani IAS.

Smt. Ramdinliani DEO, Lunglei firmly stated that Election Commission of India wanted the handling of EVMs and other Election related matters to be not only fair and transparent, but also must appears as such in all respect, and that’s the reason why today’s randomization programme was witnessed not only by General observers but also by candidates and their agents apart from Election Officials, she added. She also informed the programme’s attendees that print out of randomization will be handed over to all the candidates or their representatives and added that the  1^st randomization of EVMs was held on 18/10/20 wherein Balloting Unit (BU),Controlling Unit(CU) and  VVPATs were randomly paired  and randomly assigned to all the constituencies. In the 2^nd Randomization; EVMs will be randomly assigned to all the polling stations, she informed.

 Lunglei District presently has -256nos. of  Balloting  Unit, 250 nos. of Controlling Unit  and  275 nos. of ,VVPATs, of these BUs,CUs& VVPATs available,  176+ Reserve  (20%  of 176) BUs &  CUs  along with 176+  reservation (30% of 176)  VVPATs will be randomized( 176 being the total number of polling stations). For randomization of EVMs, yesterday’s randomization was the final randomization, but for the polling parties, Final and 3^rd randomization is yet to be done.

Yesterday’s  2nd randomization of EVMs & Polling parties programme was well attended and witnessed by General Observers , ROs, AROs, candidates and their political agents.
