The Government of Mizoram (Land Revenue & Settlement Department) issue a memorundum on matter of Notified Forest Reserve area encroachment restriction as follows:

Whereas there are some locations where allotment of lands for any purpose is prohibited or restricted under law or by order of the Government, it is hereby reiterated for information and strict compliance that no application for land for the purpose of agriculture in areas within any notified Forest Reserve, notified town area shall be entertained or processed by any employee of the Land Revenue & Settlement Department to avoid unnecessary rendering of efforts.
