Aizawl, the 4th October 2023: The three 3 days long Grand Gandhi Jayanti Exhibition organized at the Circular Lawn, Raj Bhavan was successfully concluded, this evening. Governor Dr Hari Babu Kambhampati graced the closing function of the grand exhibition and thanked everyone who contributed to making this exhibition a grand success.

In his closing remarks, the Governor expressed his sincere hope that this Exhibition will contribute to the development of handloom and handicrafts, as well as the food processing sector in our State. He thanked the Ministry of Textiles, Government of India for their financial support and the Commerce and Industries Department for successfully organizing this Exhibition. He also thanked everyone who visited the expo and especially thanked all those who purchased items in support of our local artisans. He also hoped that through the exhibition, the general public would have been informed of the various Central Government Schemes, including the PM Vishwakarma Yojana and others. He, once again, urged the people to avail these beneficial Schemes, which are meant for the common people.

From the side of the organizing committee, Pi Florence Zotluangpui, Director, Commerce & Industries gave a brief report of the event. Despite the incessant drizzle during the three days, the exhibition turned out to be a grand success. As recorded earlier in the afternoon, the sellers of the Handloom & Handicrafts and the Food Items combined collected around Rs 30 Lakh from the sale proceeds. at the same time, more than 860 prospective startups inquired at the help desk of Mizoram Rural Bank about financial assistance and more than 500 weavers approached the help desk of the Department of Science & Technology about the textile software called Zopuan. From the seller's side, Dr Angie, GR Foods, Pi Malsawm Kimi, Humble Bakes and Pi Zosangliani, Studio Ngote shared enthusiastic feedback.
