Aizawl, the 20th October 2023: Governor Dr Hari Babu Kambhampati, the Chief Rector of Mizoram University graced the university's Alumni Grand Annual Meet 2023 as a Chief Guest. The event was held at the Auditorium, Mizoram University. Prof Laltluangliana Khiangte, Acting Vice Chancellor was the Guest of Honour.

In his address, Governor Dr Hari Babu Kambhampati cited the important role played by the alumni for growth and development and also for improving the reputation of any university. He urged the MZU's alumni association and its successful members to continue to support the university in all possible ways and to play a proactive role in the development of the campus and its infrastructure. He also stressed the important parts of mentoring the students.

The Governor praised the dedication of the teachers and the students for the continued success enjoyed by MZU which manifested in consistently securing a high-ranking position among the NIRF's top-ranked universities in the country. For this, he acknowledged that the Alumni played an important part.

He also took an opportunity to make an appeal to the gathering of scholars and top-tier officials on this occasion to educate the general population of the state in availing all the social security schemes and other beneficial schemes under the Government of India which are largely unavailed due to lack of awareness.

Pu Emanuel Lalhriatzuala Ralte, President, MIZUAA chaired the program. The function commenced with a welcomed address by Prof K. Robin, Convener, Alumni Advisory Committee, MZU followed by the Alumni Report from Pu K. Zorammuana, Vice President, MIZUAA. In this program, the Gold medalists of MZU and the Alumni achievers(notably officers under government of Mizoram and the Government of India) along with retired VCs, Registrars, and Professors were felicitated. The function concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Dr R. Zonunsanga, Vice President, MIZUAA.
