Dated Aizawl, the 31st May, 2024: A presentation and talk on lifestyle diseases and diabetes by Dr. Vasanth Kumar, M.D., Senior Physician, Apollo Hospital, Hyderabad, was graced by Governor Dr. Hari Babu Kambhampati as the Chief guest at Durbar Hall, Raj Bhavan.

In light of the presentation, the Governor spoke of the growing need for maintaining our physical and mental health in today’s world due to the massive increase in lifestyle diseases such as diabetes, high BP and others caused by the sedentary lifestyle of today. Stressing on the importance of health, he urged everyone to be conscious of one’s own health, for a healthy person is more likely to make positive contributions and decisions as individuals affecting the overall performance of an individual in everyday life. 

Expressing gratitude to Dr. Vasanth Kumar, the Governor hopes that the talks and presentation would give a new resolve to the participants towards maintaining their overall physical and mental health.

The event aimed to shed light on the escalating prevalence of lifestyle related diseases, particularly diabetes, and the imperative need for preventive measures and lifestyle modifications. Recognizing the critical role of education and awareness in combating these diseases, Dr. Vasanth Kumar M.D. urged the participants to engage in spreading awareness to others for a better and healthier life for all.
