Aizawl, the 3rd October 2023: Governor Dr Hari Babu Kambhampati, Chief Rector of Mizoram University as the Chief Guest, graced the Ruby Jubilee celebration of Psychology Department, Mizoram University held at the Auditorium, Mizoram University Campus, today. Prof Dibakar Chandra Deka, Vice Chancellor of MZU was the Guest of Honour.

Governor Dr Hari Babu Kambhampati, in his address, stressed how Psychology has evolved over the years, and how it plays a pivotal role in addressing the complex challenges of the modern world.

With the Mizoram University being approved to start the course in Clinical Psychology, Governor suggested that scholars from the University and it's graduates now have more active roles to play in society. He urged the psychology graduates and the faculty to come forward and try to contribute more for mental health, digital well-being, and societal harmony.

Another main speaker, Prof Dibakar Chandra Deka, Vice Chancellor of MZU congratulated the Department of Psychology for having completed 40 glorious years of education in the field of psychology. He briefly gave a lecture on the significance of learning psychology and how Psychology plays a crucial role in this changing world where society drastically evolved with behavioral changes.

The inauguration program commenced with an invocation by Prof H.K. Laldinpuii Fente, Department of Psychology, MZU. Prof Zoengpari, Head & Chairperson, Ruby Jubilee Steering Committee gave a welcome address. This was followed by special items from the students and a report by Dr. C. Zothanmawia, Secretary, the Ruby Jubilee Steering Committee. After the special address by Prof Zokaitluangi, Senior Professor, Department of Psychology, MZU, and the addresses from the Governor and the Vice Chancellor, Prof C. Lalfamkima Varte, Department of Psychology, MZU concluded the inaugural function with a vote of thanks.
