Aizawl, the 28^th June, 2024: Governor Dr Hari Babu Kambhampati inaugurated the opening session of coaching of the NIEDO Second Batch at Zokhawsang Complex of 2 Assam Rifles today. The open house mentoring camp for entrance examinations of JEE, NEET and other allied examinations is a collaboration of Assam Rifles, National Integrity & Educational Development Organization (NIEDO), & Axis Bank as support, training, and corporate partners.

At the outset of his inaugural address, Governor Dr Hari Babu Kambhampati appreciated this valuable initiative and collaborative effort as he felt that this partnership reflects a profound commitment to the future of our children and the progress of our society. He stressed the significance of Education as the cornerstone of national integration and nation-building. Further, he added that education is the most potent tool available to shape the future, break the chains of poverty, and foster a sense of unity and purpose among our youth. He also thanked Axis Bank, NIEDO & Assam Rifles for their unwavering support and dedication to this cause.

On 27^th September 2023, Governor Dr Hari Babu Kambhampati presided over the signing of the MoU between HQ 23 Sector, Assam Rifles, NIEDO, and Axis Bank to start a project to provide a fully residential free-of-cost education and coaching facility, endowed with concurrent wellness module for children from underprivileged background, for entry into niche colleges and universities after Class-12. For this project, the Axis Bank, under its CSR commitment,  sanctioned Rs 3.9 Crore (approx) for coverage of 4 years.

Last year, 186 students from various districts of Mizoram appeared for the entrance exam. 30 students were selected in the final stage. The training commenced in January and lasted for four months. Among these 30 students, one cleared the JEE exam and 20 cleared the NEET exam. This year,  436 students appeared for the NIEDO second batch entrance exam. Of these, 144 students were selected for the interview, and finally, 30 students were chosen.

The inaugural function commenced with a welcome address and a keynote address by Brig Girish Upadhya, SM, VSM, DIG, 23 Sector Assam Rifles. In the next segment, Governor Dr Hari Babu Kambhampati felicitated the successful candidates from the last batch and proceeded with his inaugural speech. After the function, Governor Dr Hari Babu Kambhampati and Lady Governor Dr Jayashree Kambhampati were escorted to inspect the coaching facilities. Dr Rohit Srivastava, Director NIEDO and the representatives of Axis Bank were also present on this occasion.
