• Dear friends
Today, I am pleased to be part of this noble initiative, a collaborative effort by Assam Rifles, National Integrity & Educational Development Organization (NIEDO), & Axis Bank. This partnership reflects a profound commitment to the future of our children and progress of our society.
Education is the cornerstone of national integration and nation building.
It is the most powerful tool we possess to shape the future, break the chains of poverty, and foster a sense of unity and purpose among our youth.
This is a testimonial to our collective belief in the transformative power of education.
I am confident that this endeavor will pave the way for quality education and success for the children of Mizoram. I extend my heartfelt gratitude to Axis Bank, NIEDO & Assam Rifles for their unwavering support and dedication to this cause. These efforts will not only provide academic opportunities, but also inspire a sense of national pride and social well being among children.
The vision of the project is to provide a fully residential free of cost education and coaching facility, endowed with concurrent wellness module for children from underprivileged background, for entry into niche colleges and universities after Class-12.
I am happy to have presided over the signing of the MoU between HQ 23 Sector, Assam Rifles, NIEDO, and Axis Bank on 27 September 2023.
Last year, a total of 186 students from various districts of Mizoram appeared for the entrance exam.
The training commenced in January and lasted for four months. Among these 30 students, one cleared the JEE exam and 20 cleared the NEET exam.
I am confident that now, with a period of almost one year of preparation for the second batch, 100 percent of the students will clear the exams.
This year, a total of 436 students appeared for the NIEDO second batch entrance exam.
Out of these, 144 students were selected for the interview, and finally, 30 students were chosen.
I must emphasize that this project was conceived personally by the Director General of Assam Rifles, a testament to his dedication.
It is truly gratifying to have with us today Brigadier Girish Upadhya, Sena Medal Bar, Vishist Seva Medal, Deputy Inspector General, 23 Sector Assam Rifles, and Dr Rohit Srivastava, Director NIEDO.
My heartiest congratulations to the students and their parents who are selected in this project, and to all those involved in this noble initiative.
I wish you all the very best.
I am optimistic that this project will leave a lasting impact on the State of Mizoram.
Thank you.
Jai Hind.
