•  Distinguished dignitaries

•  Esteemed participants

•  Dear friends

This evening, we gather here in the spirit of unity, hope, and celebration, to mark the historic signing of the Mizoram Peace Accord, fondly referred to as 'Remna Ni'. This day has been etched in the annals of our history as a symbol of our collective commitment to peace, reconciliation, and progress.

I extend my heartfelt gratitude to The Aijal Club for organizing this event. Your dedication to fostering unity and harmony is truly commendable, and I thank you for your unwavering support.

I express my deep appreciation to all those who contributed in the peace process. Your perseverance and vision have been instrumental, and I commend you for your tireless efforts in shaping a brighter future for Mizoram.

The Mizoram Peace Accord stands as a beacon of hope for our State and a shining example for others.

It is testament to our fortitude and commitment to building a peaceful and inclusive society.

It signifies a new chapter in our history where all the inhabitants of the State can live together in harmony, dignity, and prosperity.

We must remember that peace is not merely the absence of conflict, but the presence of justice, equality, and respect for all.

Let us pledge to uphold the values enshrined in the Accord, to work together in unity and solidarity, and to build a society where every individual has the opportunity to thrive and succeed.

I take this moment to recognize the pivotal role played by Pu Laldenga, the Founder President of the Mizo National Front (MNF).

His steadfast leadership and unwavering dedication to the cause of the Mizos, have been instrumental in bringing about this significant moment of peace and reconciliation.

I acknowledge the role of Pu Lal Thanhawla, who graciously made way for Pu Laldenga to assume the position of Chief Minister.

His statesmanship, foresight, and willingness to set aside political differences for the greater good of the people of Mizoram, have been crucial in fostering an environment conducive to peace and reconciliation.

I express my gratitude to Pu Lalduhoma, for his role as a mediator between the MNF and the Government of India.

His tireless efforts, diplomatic skills, and commitment to facilitating dialogue and understanding between the two parties, have been instrumental in bridging the divides, and building trust necessary for the successful negotiation of the Peace Accord.

I also acknowledge the contributions of Pu Zoramthanga, Pu Ch. Chhunga and Brig. T. Sailo, former Chief Ministers of Mizoram. We are forever grateful for their selfless commitment to the well-being of our State and its people.

As we celebrate 'Remna Ni', let us remember the contributions of these remarkable individuals and the countless others who have worked tirelessly to bring us to this point.

I extend my deepest gratitude to each and every one of you for your unwavering commitment to the cause of peace and unity in Mizoram.

Peace has become even more important in light of recent developments in our neighbourhood, as well as in the wider world.

The State of Mizoram has become an ‘Island of Peace’ in a sea of conflicts and violence.

It is to the great credit of the people of this State that we have managed to maintain valuable peace through all these years.

As we all know, peace is a pre-requisite to development.

We must continue to burn the midnight oil as we attempt to catch up with the rest of the country in terms of progress and development.

Hon’ble Prime Minister has spoken about our aim of becoming the third largest economy in the world.

Together, let us forge ahead with renewed vigor and determination, as we aim to achieve a Viksit Bharat by the year 2047.

In conclusion, I urge all of us to reaffirm our commitment to peace, reconciliation, and progress. Let us embrace the spirit of cooperation, understanding, and compassion.

Let us strive to create a society where diversity is celebrated, differences are respected, and unity prevails.

May the spirit of 'Remna Ni' guide us towards a future filled with peace, harmony, and shared prosperity for all.

Jai Mizoram.

Jai Hind.
