Aizawl, the 30th November 2023: ICFAI University, Mizoram held its 11th Convocation today at its Campus, Durtlang. The Convocation was chaired by Governor Dr Hari Babu Kambhampati, Visitor of ICFAI. Dr. G. Satheesh Reddy, President, the Aeronautical Society of India, former Chairman, DRDO and Secretary, the Ministry of Defense (R&D) was the Chief Guest at the 11th Convocation of ICFAI University, Mizoram. Pi KC Runremsangi, Padma Shree Awardee 2022-23 was the guest of honor.

Governor Dr Hari Babu Kambhampati, Visitor of ICFAI University Mizoram congratulated the successful students. He said that successful students are welcomed with a bright future and greater opportunities. The Governor congratulated ICFAI University Mizoram on its progress and urged the Vice Chancellor and staff to work vigorously as per the NEP 2020 vision and formulation. He also advised the University to increase its efforts on the fronts of Skill Development, Entrepreneurship, Research and Vocational Education sector.

Chief Guest Dr.G.Satheesh Reddy, President, Aeronautical Society of India elaborated on how the Indian scientists have contributed to science and technology advancements on the world stage. He cited that in the past, Indian students went to the USA, Europe and wealthier countries for work. Now, however, this has changed dramatically, with those NRI engaged in other countries returning to India and starting their own business models under Start Up India, which are now turned into multi-billion dollar companies in a short period of time. He suggested that Mizoram youths follow this trend to achieve success under Start Up India and Make in India.

Chancellor Prof YR Haragopal Reddy inaugurated the 11th Convocation of ICFAI University, Mizoram. Vice Chancellor Prof Bijay Singh delivered a welcome speech followed by other programs in the convocation.

Chancellor Prof YR Haragopal Reddy announced that ICFAI Mizoram has received approval from the Government to have the authority to confer an Honorary Doctorate Degree to deserving persons in various fields such as social work, education and others. Subsequently, ICFAI University Mizoram has presented the Padma Shree Award 2022-23 recipient Pi KC Runremsangi with the University’s first honorary doctorate for her outstanding contribution to Mizo Folk Song & Dance. Governor Dr Hari Babu Kambhampati, Visitor to ICFAI University Mizoram and Dr G Satheesh Reddy, President, Aeronautical Society of India presented the D.Litt(Honoris Causa )to Pi KC Runremsangi on behalf of ICFAI University Mizoram.

267 students (UG&PG) graduated on the 11th convocation of ICFAI University Mizoram. The new graduates received their Degree Certificates from Vice Chancellor Prof Bijay Singh. Dr. G. Satheesh Reddy, President, Aeronautical Society of India presented certificates and medals to the Silver Medalists. Governor Dr Hari Babu Kambhampati presented the Gold Medalists with certificates and medals.
