- My dear students
On the occasion of the 11th Convocation of the ICFAI University Mizoram, I extend my heartiest congratulations to the Chancellor, Vice Chancellor, the faculty, the staff and all the degree and medal recipients.
This is my second visit to ICFAI University Mizoram, which is the first private university in the State.
I congratulate the ICFAI Society for its tireless endeavour to impart quality education to different parts of the country.
I am sure that ICFAI University Mizoram will continue its endeavour to impart world class education and training to develop these young minds to their full potential.
I urge and challenge the faculty members to constantly strive towards excellence.
Education is key to overcoming various crises, as it provides solutions to many problems.
Education stimulates innovation and creativity, inspires scholarly thought, and enhances the individual and society as a whole.
You should continuously update yourselves with the latest technologies, innovations and the changes the world is going through.
The historic National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 was launched under the leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji, replacing the old Education Policy.
The NEP 2020 has laid great emphasis on the need for skill development.
It aims to prepare students to become entrepreneurs and “job creators”.
The NEP 2020 advocates for research-based specialization within a multi-disciplinary framework and holistic approach to education.
It encourages collaboration between industry and educational institutions in order to drive innovation and research.
The Policy seeks to attain quality higher education by moving towards large, multidisciplinary universities and colleges.
I encourage ICFAI University Mizoram to continue to pursue the salient features of the NEP 2020, so that we can bring about positive growth in our education system.
Hon’ble Prime Minister had also spoken about our target of becoming a 5 trillion US Dollar economy.
Our country is now the fifth largest economy in the world.
The Union Government has initiated various programmes to boost our economy, such as Make in India, Digital India, Startup India, MUDRA, PM Viswakarma, and many more.
As such, there is a conducive ecosystem for startups to blossom in our economy. As the educated youth, you should grab this opportunity with both hands.
I encourage you to set up startups and actively participate in the further expansion of our economy.
My dear students, on this happy occasion, I urge you to reflect on your own journeys.
Recall the moments of triumph and the moments of defeat, for both have played essential roles in shaping who you are today.
Embrace your past, learn from it, and carry those lessons forward as you embark on this new chapter of your life.
You must dare to dream big, and envision a world that is better, brighter, and more inclusive.
It is through audacious dreams that we have seen remarkable progress throughout history.
Be bold in your ambitions, and have the courage to pursue your passions, even in the face of adversities.
Dear friends, the world needs your unique talents, your fresh perspectives, and your unwavering determination.
Seize the opportunities that come your way, and remember that even the smallest action can have a profound impact.
Together, let us build a better Nation, and a better world.
I once again congratulate all of you, your proud parents and guardians, and the faculty of this esteemed university.
Thank you. Jai Hind.
