Aizawl, the 17th July 2020: Governor P.S. Sreedharan Pillai had felicitated a meritorious girl student who despite hailing from a poor family background had secured 8th rank in the examination of Mizoram Higher Secondary School Leaving Certificate 2020, today at the Raj Bhavan, Aizawl.

Despite the challenging family condition Lalvenhimi, aged 17, daughter of Shri Lalfakliana, a daily wage earner never had an excuse not to work hard for her studies. With all her daily chores in the kitchen and looking after her siblings while her parents work away from home she had regulary followed her daily regiment of study hours from 6pm onwards till 10pm in the night and started out again at 3am in the morning till 7 am. Today, her achievement is being hailed proudly by the Governor as awe-inspiring for all the students in the country. She will further pursue her studies at Govt. Hrangbana College which had offered free admission in recognition or her remarkable feat.
