Project Pushpak of Border Roads Organisation (BRO) celebrated Hindi Diwas from 01 - 14 September 2018. The Hindi Diwas celebration culminated today at Rajat Auditorium (near AMC Building, Zemabawk) which was graced and chaired by the Hon’ble Governor of Mizoram, Shri Kummanam Rajasekharan.

 

Addressing the audience, the Hon’ble Governor expressed his happiness to see active participation from the children and local people of Mizoram. He spoke about the initiatives of the Government of India to promote our national language, Hindi both within and outside the country. He exhorted everyone to take pride in picking up our National language which will ensure better bonding with people of other states and also enhance the education and job opportunities outside the state. The Hon’ble Governor appreciated the efforts of Project Pushpak for actively promoting such government sponsored initiatives in addition to their primary role of road construction facilitating the connectivity in border and remote areas of Mizoram since last 50 years.  


At the end, Brig. Birender Singh, Chief Engineer of Project Pushpak, handed over a cheque of Rs. 1.5 lakh to the Hon’ble Governor as contribution of the personnel of Project Pushpak for the people of Kerala affected by severe floods recently. 


During the fortnight, series of competitions on Hindi Essay writing and elocutions were organized at the Headquarters of Project Pushpak. On the culminating day, a Hindi Elocution competition was organized involving active participation from the BRO personnel and the local people of Mizoram including young children. The Hon’ble Governor gave away the prizes to the winners.
