Dated Aizawl the 26th April 2023: Today, Governor Hari Babu Kambhampati convened a meeting with representatives from the Public Health Engineering (PHE) department and ZOPAR Export to address the pressing issue of water scarcity in the Reiek and Ailawng regions.

During the meeting, PHE officials informed Governor Kambhampati about the inadequacy of the current Reiek water supply scheme in meeting the demands of both Reiek and its surrounding areas. A representative from Zopar Export also expressed concerns over the challenges faced in their operations due to the water shortage.

Governor Kambhampati emphasized the importance of addressing these issues and encouraged the stakeholders to develop project proposals that offer both temporary and long-term solutions to the water crisis. He highlighted the critical role of floriculture in Mizoram's tourism industry and the need for a strong partnership between the government and entrepreneurs to support its growth.

Furthermore, the Governor urged the officials to devise comprehensive and sustainable strategies for improving the water supply in Reiek, Ailawng, and neighboring areas to alleviate the current challenges faced by residents and businesses alike.
