His Excellency Governor of Mizoram, Lt.Gen.Nirbhay Sharma,PVSM,UYSM,AVSM,VSM (Retd) visits Saiha, today by Copter at 11:00AM. He was taken straightaway to DC’s Conference Hall where his Reception was awaited, from Helipad. After Guard of Honour accord to him, the Governor planted the sapling of  Mizoram State Tree “Herhse” at DC’s Office Complex. His Excellency had a brief meeting with all the Head of Office of Gov’t of Mizoram, wherein He inquired about Health, Education, Agriculture,Youths etc condition of the District from concerned officers. He exhorted the officers to put their all out efforts in implementing various Government’s programmes, schemes etc. to better the District in all respect, and to be alert and go forward ever.

After a brief meeting with HoD His Excellency then visited MADC and He was accorded a warm welcome with cultural dances and songs. Speaking at his warm Reception at MADC, His Excellency told the audience that during his 40 years at army, he was in close touch with people living at Border Area and Hilly Area and the impression he had of them was-They were Honest, pure at heart and speak out their heart and what they said was what really they meant. Therefore, he said that he was really happy, today, to be with such type of people.  Mr. Governor said that the leaders of MADC and Elders have responsibilities of instilling the “self confidence” to the youths because those achievers were those who think they could. He also said that he had heard the achievers’ story amongst the youths from this District in the field of education, sports etc, and he would be looking forward to hear more of such youth achievers’ story.

His reception at MADC was followed by a brief meeting with MADC leaders at CEM Conference Hall and MADC leaders requested him to take up their demand of sixth schedule Amendment, Establishment of District Sainik Board etc, and also submitted to him their Memorandum in this regard.

His Excellency Governor of Mizoram, Lt. Gen. Nirbhay Sharma, PVSM,UYSM, AVSM, VSM (Retd) was accompanied by Shri. Hiphei, Speaker, Mizoram Legislative Assembly and Shri. Zothangliana, Parliamentary Secretary. He left for Lawngtlai by Copter at 1:00PM.
