On his maiden visit to Lawngtlai District, Lt. General Nirbhay Sharma PVSM,UYSM,AVSM,VSM (Retd) the Governor of Mizoram visit Lawngtlai today afternoon and made a three consecutive official meeting  with District Officials, Members of Lai Autonomous District Council and Members of Chakma Autonomous District Council at DC Conference Hall  and plant Ashoka Tree on the Deputy Commissioner’s Office Complex.

In his meeting with the District Officials in Lawngtlai District, the Governor said that as far as Lawngtlai District is sandwich by two international boundaries such as Myanmar and Bangladesh, there may be infiltration problems from both sides. In order to avoid those kind of illegal penetration, the three security Forces such as Border Security Forces, the Assam Rifle and the State Police Department need to work hand in hand with a good cooperation.  He also explained that the Churches and Non Governmental Organization can have a big influence in the society, a better cooperation for the implementation of public health, literacy and other awareness campaign with those institutions would be meaningful. In order to make a better chance to join Army for the youth people in the District, he advise enhancement of interaction with the existing deployed Security Forces within the District with the local people and facilitating each other to make a recruitment rally occasionally.

In his appointment program with the District Officers, the Deputy Commissioner Mr. J Hmingthanmawia delivered his welcome speech and the Superintendent of Police; Mr. Lalringdika delivered his report on the security matter of the District. There is also an interaction with the other officials on different subjects.

After having appointment with the District Officials, the Governor has another separate meeting with the members of Lai Autonomous District Councils and the member Chakma Autonomous District Council consecutively. On his interaction with members of these two Autonomous District Councils, the Governor told them to work with accountability and transparency in all aspect of implementations.

Governor is accompanied by Mr. Hiphei, the Speaker of Mizoram and Mr. H. Zothangliana, Parliamentary Secretary. He arrived at 1:00Pm at Lawngtlai Helipad and was received by Mr. J. Hmingthanmawia, the Deputy Commissioners; Mr. Lalringdika, Superintendent of Police and the CEMs of LADC and CADC.  After having those meetings, he returned back to Aizawl at 3:00Pm.
