Aizawl the 19th September, 2022 : For the first time in its history, Govt. Industrial Training Institute of Aizawl, Mizoram organized a Convocation programme on 17th September, 2022 for 143 students who have completed their various courses.

In the academic session of 2022-2023, Govt. ITI College enrolled 384 students and the Institute registered an overall passed percentage of 97.14% which is the Institute’s best record since its inception. With this record the Institute ranked at sixth place in the country. At this Convocation programme Certificates were handed out to the 143 students who have successfully completed their courses.

The Convocation programme started with a welcome address by Mr. K. Lalhmingliana, Director, LESDE department who felicitated the students on their accomplishments. Hon’ble Chief Guest Mr. Lalramsanga Sailo, Secretary, LESDE Department lauded Govt. ITI Aizawl for having one of the best results among hundreds of ITI’s in the country. He highlighted the importance of upgrading ITI’s in Mizoram towards development of skill and for self –employment of the youth of Mizoram. He also mentioned that many of the local technicians in Mizoram are former students of ITI’s and among the recently graduated students of Motor Mechanic Vehicle (MMV), 14 of them have secured a letter of appointment from major companies even before announcement of their final results.

This is the first time that the Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship (MSDE) has organized a Convocation programme for the entire country and further planned to celebrate it every year. The main programme was held at New Delhi in commemoration on the day of Vishwakarman Diwas(Day) with our hon’ble Prime Minister virtually addressing the Convocation.

The Convocation function closed with the Chief Guest handing out a small award to the Top-3 meritorious students in various discipline.

The programme was attended by the students and Instructor of Industrial Training Institute along with noteworthy alumni and representatives from the industry sector.
