GREEN MIZORAM DAY OBSERVED AT LAWNGTLAI

Lawngtlai, the 11th June, 2021: Lawngtlai District, along with the rest of the State, observed the Green Mizoram Day 2021 today by planting tree saplings along the roadside of Lawngtlai to Mampui road.

Due to COVID-19 pandemic, the Day was observed without organising an inaugural function. Various departments under state government, Environment, Forests & Climate Change Department under LADC and District MJA planted varieties of trees like herhse, thlado, lenhmui, ngiau, etc. at their allotted planting site. A total of 283 saplings were planted today.

Village Level Fire Prevention Award 2021 for Lawngtlai District was also distributed as part of the observance of the Green Mizoram Day as below:

1st prize (Rs 50,000/- + Citation) - Siachangkawn

2nd prize (Rs 30,000/- + Citation) - Lungpher 'S'

3rd prize (Rs 20,000/- + Citation) - Paithar
