Aizawl, the 7th October, 2021: Health & Family Welfare Board Vice Chairman Dr. Z.R Thiamsanga, MLA, Champhai North today inaugurated the 500 litres per minute (LPM) capacity Pressure Swing Adsorption (PSA) Oxygen Generating Plant supplied by the Prime Minister's Citizen Assistance and Relief in Emergency Situations (PM CARES) Fund at District Hospital Champhai.
Newly installed PSA Plant can generate 500 litres of the life-saving gas per minute, in addition to the existing 80 litres per minute PSA Plant, the total amount of oxygen capacity now at District Hospital Champhai stands at 580 litres of oxygen generation per minute which is sufficient to cope up with the present situation at Champhai district.
Deputy Commissioner, Champhai District Pi Maria C.T Zuali welcomed the gathering on the auspicious occasion, Dr. Zatluanga, DMS Champhai proposed vote of thanks and concluded the inaugural event. After the inaugural event, a program from AIIMS Rishikesh, Uttarkhand wherein Prime Minister's official inaugural ceremony of 35 PSA Plants dedicated to the nation was taking place was also joined from District Hospital Champhai.
The installation Agency is DRDO while the site preparation agency is CPWD.The civil works was completed on July 7, 2021. The PSA Oxygen plant arrived on 23, September and Gaskon Engineers completed engineering works on 25, September and the test run was successfully done on that day itself.
Hosco Pvt. Ltd finished the pipeline connection, training for security and staffs was successfully conducted and 250 KVA dedicated transformer was also installed recently.
