AIZAWL; the 18th July, 2024: The Student Union (SU) of Gov’t. T. Romana College (GTRC) organized Graduation Day -cum- Freshers’ Day programme at Vanapa Hall, here in Aizawl and Pu C.Lalsawivunga, Hon’ble Minister for LAD, AH &Vety, District Council & Minority Affairs etc. benignly graced the programme as Chief Guest.
Speaking at the occasion, Hon’ble Minister Pu C.Lalsawivunga reminded the gathering students of GTRC, of the grim reality of our present scenario by stating that just getting a degree or graduating from College is not enough in today’s competitive world. It is essential to develop skills, knowledge, and experience to stand out. The Minister also emphasized the need for self-reflection, especially in the context of Mizoram consistently failing to crack the UPSC examination year after year. It is crucial to identify areas for improvement and work on them. If you really wanted to succeed, said the minister, you need to stay committed to your goal coupled with strong determination and hard work. He also advised the students to abstain from drugs, liquors and avoid other social evils that can hinder progress and success. Fear the Lord, strive for success that will not only brings personal fulfilment but also honour your country and parents, he quipped.
Dr.Jenifer Lalbiakdiki, Principal GTRC in her welcome speech highlighted that Minister is a well-wisher of GTRC and he used to doled out financial assistances to less privileged students of GTRC and had sponsored Shed, Civil Service Aspirants’ Corner etc. earlier to the college as well. She informed the audiences that Minister donated ₹5 lakhs for College’s Library from his MLA Fund, today.
In today’s programme Minister released an annual magazine of GTRC viz: RALTIANG and handed over Incentives Cash Award to 17 meritorious Students. This Incentives Cash Award was sponsored by GTRC Faculty members and some philanthropists.
Meritorious students and graduating students were grandly felicitated in today’s function, and it’s well attended by Faculty and Non- faculty members of GTRC, Alumni, MZP, MSU and invitees.
