Aizawl, 18th July 2024: Union Minister of State for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Shri Bhagirath Choudhary this forenoon visited the College of Veterinary Sciences & Animal Husbandry (CVSc& AH), Central Agricultural University (CAU), Selesih. During the visit the Union Minister visited Teaching Veterinary Clinical Complex (TVCC) and the Department of Veterinary Microbiology. Also he inaugurated new Sales Booth, unveiled Silver Jubilee Monument, visited exhibition at the College Community Hall wherein he interacted with the farmers.

Union Minister of State for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Pu Bhagirath Choudhary, during his visit to the TVCC, was briefed by Prof. Fazal Ali Ahmed about the veterinary college's initiatives in treatment procedures. In the Department of Veterinary Microbiology, Prof. Tapan Kumar Dutta highlighted various ongoing projects and their significant contributions to animal health research. Additionally, the Minister inaugurated a new Sales Booth under the Department of Livestock Production Technology (LPT).

Union Minister of State Shri Bhagirath Choudhary, unveiled the silver jubilee monument commemorating 25 years of the Veterinary College. Thereafter, he visited the exhibition wherein the union minister had thorough interaction with the gathering farmers which was presided over by Prof. Lalnuntluangi Hmar, Dean of the College of Veterinary Sciences & Animal Husbandry.

Pu Bhagirath Choudhary emphasized the importance of empowering farmers, mentioning plans to increase the income of farmers 4 times by 2029. He highlighted the government's commitment to supporting Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs) to enhance agricultural productivity and sustainability in the region.

Union Minister of State for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Pu Bhagirath Choudhary, arrived yesterday afternoon at Lengpui Airport in Mizoram. He was received by Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister Pu PC Vanlalruata, Secretary to the Government of Mizoram, Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Department, Pi Ramdinliani and other senior government officials. The Minister is scheduled to depart for New Delhi tomorrow afternoon.
