Aizawl 5th September 2022: HRD Board Vice Chairman Mr. L. Thangmawia, MLA, has attended Teachers' Day seminar organised by Education Department, Mizoram University, today. The consistent growth and development of Education in Mizoram and the growth of Science and Mathematics institution were discussed at the seminar.

Speaking at the occasion Mr L. Thangmawia sends his regards to all the teachers in Mizoram. He also thanked Department of Education, Mizoram University for organising and creating such good opportunity for participation. He further mentions that the University itself have dedicated their time and effort to pursue research on different subjects. Apart from this he further mentioned the necessity of creating findings from the research which would be fruitful and beneficial for the state Mizoram itself, and declared that such making such researches and studies are the responsibilities of Mizoram University.

He further mentions that, even though research on different subjects have been taken up at Mizoram University, the University needs to produce research findings that are beneficial and useful the state Mizoram to where it resides and such is the duty of Mizoram University. Even if there is an occurrence of numerous grand findings within the University, if there is less research done and less findings useful for the state is produced, Mizoram University will not be able to live up to its important purpose of establishment for the people and dedicated workforces of the state Mizoram itself.

Mr L. Thangmawia further mentions that due to lack of teachers in Science and Mathematics subjects for a long time, these subjects have been considered by many as a hard subject which could not be understood by the Mizo. But such mindset or thoughts were changed with the progress of time.

He requested Department of Education, Mizoram, University to take up initiatives in conducting research to enhance learning progress in subjects of science, mathematics and to make quality education accessible to students with disabilities. And in doing so, he further invited the dept. to give their constructive suggestions to the Govt. of Mizoram.

The seminar was chaired by Prof. H. Malsawmi, Head of Dept., Dept. of Education, Mzu and it was ended with a vote of thanks by Dr. Zothanliana, Assistant Professor, Dept. of Education, Mzu.
