Aizawl, the 29th May 2020 : In pursuance of the recommendation of the Task Group on Insurance for Frontline Workers fighting Covid-19, a lumpsum compensation of 20.00 lakh shall be payable to the families of government employees not governed by Central Civil Services (Pension) Rules, 1972 who die due to Covid-19 contracted in the course of performance of duties.

However, this Ex-Gratia lumpsum compensation shall be payable only to families of government employees who are not covered by the PMGKY Insurance Scheme.

All claims for payment of the Ex-Gratia lumpsum compensation shall be Submitted to the Chief Controller of Accounts, Accounts and Treasuries who shall after due examination and scrutiny submit to Finance Department (APF) for approval.

This benefit shall be payable in the case of death due to Covid-19 Occurring on or before 31.03.2021.
