The Information and Public Relations Minister Pu Lalruatkima graced the 15th Khawhai Students’ Union General Assembly held at Khawhai Town Hall on Thursday (9.1.2020). Pu Laltanpuia, MCS, Joint Director, FCS&CA was the Guest of Honour.
Speaking at the programme, the Minister said that the new government has given top priority to education sector, numbers of new teachers have been recruited to meet with deficiency and school timing was changed as per the convenience, he added. He maintained that the government will try to adjust with the evolution of modern technology. The Chief Guest also stated that Khawhai is known to produce successful illustrious men and women who have made a mark in the history of Mizoram, he encouraged the students to work hard to carry on this tradition. He reiterated to the Students to be courageous, honest and diligent, and keep on learning habits and try to excel at national level examinations. Speaking at length about different challenges faced by modern youths, the Minister urged the students to refran from excessive use of Social media, Drugs and related abuses and aware about the menace of AIDS. He also encouraged the Students to come out from their comfort zone and face new challenges. Commenting on the kind of execution of various developmental works, the RD Minister asked the Contractor to compete for trustworthy works, rather than making more profits out of it. He ended his speech by wishing the Students to garner laurels and successes in the days to come.
Pu Laltanpuia, Joint Director, FCS&CA also encouraged the Students to work harder in order to achieving success and fame in their life. Prize Distribution to meritorious students of Khawhai took place.
Khawhai Students’ Union was founded in the year 1983 with the motto ‘Progress through Education' Mr. C. Lalremruata, Treasurer presided the programme, Mr. Vanlalremsanga, Asst General Secretary-gave report and Pu K.Rodawla, VCP gave a short speech followed by Mr. Rozamliana, Fin Secretary-proposing vote of thanks.
