A felicitation program was held yesterday at the Lunglei BDO Conference Hall to honour medalists who represented the Lunglei East Assembly Constituency at the Mizoram State Games 2019 held on the 2^nd week of December last year. Lunglei East AC MLA, Pu Lawmawma Tochhawng who is also the incumbent Vice Chairman, Lunglei High Powered Committee, graced the occasion as Chief Guest. With a medal tally of 23 (Gold – 7, Silver – 7, Bronze - 9) under various sports disciplines, Lunglei East Assembly Constituency ranked 11^th out of the 40 Assembly Constituencies in Mizoram, and were placed first among the Constituencies under Lunglei District.

Congratulating the athletes and the Organizing Committee on their remarkable feat, the Lunglei East AC MLA, Pu Lawmawma Tochhawng praised the team for the grit and determination that they exhibited during the highly competitive Mizoram State Games 2019. He encouraged the young winners to work hard, dream big and set their sights on bigger platforms, even international ones, which, he pointed, out was well within their reach if they played their cards right. He also exhorted upon them to educate themselves on various schemes and benefits available to sportspersons under the state and central governments.

The successful athletes were awarded as under:

Gold Medal –           Citation + Rs. 4000/-

Silver Medal –         Citation + Rs. 3000/-

Bronze Medal –      Citation + Rs. 2000/-
