The Information and Public Relations Minister Pu Lalruatkima yesterday graced the 35th Tuipuiral Zirlai Pawl General Conference held at Dungtlang Community Hall. East Tuipui MLA, Bamboo Link Road Board Vice Chairman Pu Ramthanmawia was the Guest of Honor. The theme of the conference was “Students and Today’s World”.
At the outset, the Minister commended the Tuipuiral Zirlai Pawl for taking the initiative to organize a Conference on a subject of great importance and significance for Mizo students. Stating that towns and villages within the Tuipuiral region have been known to produce successful illustrious men and women who have made a mark in the history of Mizoram, he encouraged the students to work hard to carry on this tradition. Emphasizing on the importance of staying rooted to our Mizo culture, values and traditions, he reminded the gathering to always remember the struggles and sacrifices made by our forefathers in our journey towards development. Reminding the students that they are ‘the future leaders of Mizoram’ he called upon them to be courageous, honest and diligent in whichever profession they choose to take up later on in life. He also reminded them to be always guided by the core Mizo values of ‘tlawmngaihna’ and ‘taimakna’.
The Minister’s speech was followed by Prize Distribution to meritorious students of the region. Pu H.Lalhminghlua, Addl DPC, SSA Champhai District, Ex-President, TZP conducted a lecture on the topic “Students and Today’s World”.
Tuipuiral Zirlai Pawl was founded in the year 1986 with the motto 'Learn for Wisdom' The student union comprises of students from 25 towns and villages within the Tuipuiral region.
