Meeting of the members of the Kolasib District Disaster Management Authority was carried out today, discussing on the various arrangement to be made under the set of instructions received from National Disaster Management Authority. The meeting was held under the Chairmanship of Vanlalchhuanawma Chawngthu, SDO (Sadar) where several public, private and business establishment within the district were studied and examine to be used as reserved facilities for Quarantine and Isolation facilities in case the COVID-19 is detected in the state.

The Kolasib District Disaster Management Authority identified 5 such buildings where 50 individuals can be housed for Quarantine and 5 other Healthcare facilities capable of housing 20 individuals for isolation as precautionary measures, following the direction received from National Disaster Management Authority.

Kolasib District Level Task Force on Corona Virus Committee meeting was also conducted where Dr Lalhlimpuia, Chief Medical Officer, Kolasib district mentioned that Screening point covering both the National Highway entering the state through Bairabi and Vairengte carried out the screening of passengers since 11th February 2020 and there are no reports of COVID-19 suspected case so far. Dr RK Lalthlamuana, SMO also reported that from Kolasib district, 13 individuals, flying in from abroad, have been put under Home quarantine and they haven’t shown any sign and symptoms of COVID-19 infection till date, and that 4 have completed the quarantine period.
