Kolasib 28th October 2020: A meeting of the District Level Standing Committee, Kolasib District was held today to discuss the activities related to Pre-revision, revision of electoral roll and identification of locations for polling stations.

It was mentioned in the meeting that among 3761 claims and objections received by the Election branch, 49 were rejected, 29 are still under process and the rest have been disposed. It was also pointed out that there are 54 cases of EPIC number repetition and 32 cases of demographically similar EPIC number, which are being dealt with in the pre-revision schedule. The pre-revision activities are scheduled to be completed by 15.11.2020.

Following the Pre-revision activities, Integrated draft electoral roll will be published by 16.11.2020. Filling of claims and objections is to be carried out from 16.11.2020 till 15.12.2020 and the Final Publication of Electoral Roll (with respect to 01.01.2020 as qualifying date) is scheduled to be published on 20.01.2021.

The District Election Officer emphasized on utilizing online applications to make claims and objection, as a measure against the spread of Covid-19 and to avoid large gathering during the process of roll revision.
