Mizoram Law Minister Pu TJ Lalnuntluanga yesterday visited Zokhawthar, border town of Indo-Myanmar at Champhai District. The Minister along with many important Government officials paid visit to Immigration check post at Zokhawthar and examine the proposal to upgradation of Land Custom Station to Integrated check post here at Zokhawthar.

Law Minister reiterated that the State Government is trying to foster formal trade and building up the relationship with the neighboring country in consultation with the Central government. The Study team had also visited Moreh Indo Myanmar trade at Manipur, he added. Also the minister said that the upagradation of Zokhawthar Police facilities will be a great deal and helpful to foster border trade and bilateral relationship.

Pu SL Naveen Champhai DC mentioned the willingness of district administration to assist every state and central government initiatives.
Pu HD Rintluanga, Joint Director, Commerce and Industries explained the meaning of Immigration check post and Integrated Check Post. Pu David H.Lalthangliana, OSD to Home Department while highlighting Free Movement Regime said that Border pass will be available to get issued at District SP office very shortly which will provide movement inside FMR.

Law Minister was accompanied by Pu SL Naveen, DC Champhai; Pu Rex Zarzoliana, SP Champhai; Pu Alexander V.Chongthu, Joint Secretary, Commerce and Industries; Pu David H.Lalthangliana, OSD to Home department; Pu ZD Rintluanga, Joint Director, Commerce and Industries; Pu Lalduhthlana, DFO Champhai; Pu Lalnunfela Chawngthu, Settlement Officer Champhai; Dr Lallawmkima, DIPRO Champhai and other important Government Officials.

Pu TJ Lalnuntluanga on the same day inaugurated Zokhawthar Zone Football Tournament 2020. He also visited ongoing construction of Zokhawthar Playground and Zokhawthar Middle School.
