Lawngtlai, 24th November 2025: This afternoon, a meeting on security arrangements and matters relating to Persons on Election Duty (PED) outside Lawngtlai District was convened in the Office Chamber of Shri Donny Lalruatsanga, District Election Officer (DEO), under his chairmanship.

Shri Donny Lalruatsanga underscored the critical importance of strict adherence to rules and guidelines to ensure that the public can cast their votes freely, safely, and without fear. He further emphasised that security personnel must give due importance to their responsibilities and remain vigilant to prevent any disturbances during the electoral process. He urged all concerned to diligently fulfil their duties so that the election may be conducted smoothly, transparently, and efficiently.

Shri P.C. Lalchunglura, Superintendent of Police, presented a report on the security arrangements formulated in accordance with the guidelines for the MDC–LADC General Election. He informed that since there are three Returning Officers, three Zonal Police Officers will also be appointed for the election to supervise their respective jurisdictions on Polling Day. Quick Response Teams will be stationed at all Police Stations and Sub-Stations, and patrolling will be intensified on the day of voting.

He further stated that personnel of Lawngtlai Police Station scheduled for election duty will cast their votes on 27th November 2025 (Thursday), while Sub-Station personnel and those detailed for election duties outside the District will cast their votes on 28th November 2025 (Friday) at Government Region Higher Secondary School (GRHSS), Lawngtlai.

The meeting was attended by the Returning Officer (RO), Assistant Returning Officer (ARO), Nodal Officer, and security officials. The DEO expressed his appreciation to all participants before concluding the session.
