Lawngtlai, 22nd May 2026: A meeting on the implementation of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of Electoral Roll 2026 was held today  under the chairmanship of District Election Officer (DEO) and Deputy Commissioner, Shri Donny Lalruatsanga at his Office chamber.

Addressing the meeting, Shri  Donny Lalruatsanga expressed gratitude to all participants and stated that, as per the programme of the Election Commission of India, the Special Intensive Revision 2026 will be conducted across Mizoram from 20th May to 6th September 2026. He stressed the importance of carrying out the revision process efficiently, transparently, and within the stipulated timeline.

The DEO stated that only genuine citizens of India are eligible to vote and pointed out the possibility of wrongful inclusion or omission of foreigners in the Electoral Roll. Therefore, he emphasized the need for utmost vigilance during the revision process. He urged all Election Officials in Lawngtlai District to put forth their best efforts for the successful conduct of SIR 2026 and appealed to political parties, church leaders, and community leaders to extend full cooperation to Election Officials.

During the meeting, important matters relating to SIR 2026 were discussed. All publicity and awareness materials for the public will be coordinated through DIPRO in collaboration with IPRO (LADC) and the MJA Lawngtlai District. Publicity plans, including banners, flyers, promotional videos, and other awareness materials, were also deliberated upon for wide dissemination among the public.

The Election Officer informed the meeting that printing of the Enumeration Forms is currently underway and is expected to be completed by tonight. Training for BLOs and Additional BLOs will be conducted next Tuesday, during which the Enumeration Forms will also be distributed to all BLOs.To ensure that SIR 2026 is conducted in a free, fair, and transparent manner, EROs and AEROs were instructed to exercise greater vigilance. It was also decided that online meetings on SIR-related matters would be held frequently whenever necessary.

The meeting was attended by EROs, AEROs, Election Officers, IPRO (LADC), and the President of MJA Lawngtlai District. The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Shri  Donny Lalruatsanga.
