Aizawl, the 22nd November 2021: Leaders from the Mizoram Hmeichhe Insuihkhawm Pawl(MHIP), the largest all-female NGO body in Mizoram met Governor Hari Babu Kambhampati at the Raj Bhavan, this afternoon.

After introducing the roles they play in the Mizoram civil societies, the MHIP leaders briefed the Governor on the current important issues in Mizoram. They urged the Governor to have a closer observation of the plight of the refugees from Myanmar as they felt the poor conditions of the refugee camps across Mizoram. Governor was told that there is no clean water supply, inadequate food supply and the sanitation facilities at those camps are also very poor to the point of causing several health hazards. The need for providing security for these refugee camps was also highlighted. During the interaction on several issues, the interstate boundary issue and how the other party is violating the status quo was also discussed.

During their audience with Governor Hari Babu, the MHIP were represented by Pi T.Lalthangpuii, President, Pi Saipuii, General Secretary, Pi Biakengi, Asst Secy, Pi Ramnghaki, Treasurer, Pi Lalengliani, Fin Secy and other office-bearers.
