Special Summary Revision of Electoral Rolls, 2020 with qualifying date as 01/01/2021 started at Lunglei District today with the publication of Draft Electoral Roll at the DC Conference Hall by Lunglei DC & DEO Pu V.Lalsangliana. The program was attended by Government officials, representatives of political parties and members of the media.

Stating that exercising of franchise is the one of the most important rights and duties of any citizen, the DC&DEO urged those eligible to enroll themselves during the Special Summary Revision exercise. He also urged those present to be proactive in motivating and educating those eligible to come forward to enroll themselves in the Electoral Roll.

The Draft Electoral Roll stands as below:

As per the Draft Electoral Roll for Lunglei District, women voters outnumber men by 457, with only two of the six Assembly Constituencies – Thorang and West Tuipui, both located in the western belt of the District, having more male voters than females.  

The summary revision will go on till December 15 and the final electoral rolls would be published on January 20, 2021 (Wednesday).

Special Campaigns for revision of electoral rolls will also be conducted during the Summary Revision Exercise (generally in polling stations). Forms for inclusion/ deletion/ modification/ transposition of entries in the electoral rolls will be available at these locations. Filled in forms can be submitted there.
