Lunglei the 9th June, 2021 - Lunglei District today received 40 Oxygen Concentrators & 6 BiPAP Ventilators from ACT Grants & Swasth Alliance, New Delhi and 5 Oxygen Concentrators from O2 for India Org through Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). The medical equipments are worth Rs. 56.00 lakhs inclusive of shipping and handling costs. This takes the total Covid-19 related CSR inflow into Lunglei District to Rs. 82.50 lakhs, as the District had earlier received medical equipments worth Rs. 26.50 lakhs last Friday (4th June, 2021) from Vision IAS Academy, New Delhi and Medical Oxygen for All.
The donations were made through the efforts of Lunglei Deputy Commissioner Shri Kulothungan A, IAS. The donations are made even more significant by the fact that these life saving medical equipments are presently not readily available for purchase within Mizoram.
The items were handed over to Lunglei Chief Medical Officer Dr LC Liana by Lunglei DC Pu Kulothungan A at the Lunglei DC Office today. Chief Medical Officer Dr LC Liana and other senior H&FW officials thanked the Deputy Commissioner for his initiative in procuring the life saving equipments for the District, adding that the equipments received last week are already being put to use in treating Covid-19 positive patients in the District. The items will be distributed among COVID Care Centres (CCC), Community COVID Care Centres (4C) and Quarantine Centres across the District.
Shri Kulothungan A, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, Lunglei District expressed his heartfelt gratitude on behalf of the people to Smt Saloni Mehta & Smt Natasha Prakash (ACT Grants & Swasth Alliance, New Delhi) and Shri Satish Ambati (Founder, O2 for India Org) who have selflessly lent helping hands to the people of Mizoram (Lunglei District) in these trying times. The Deputy Commissioner also took the opportunity to extend his gratitude to Pu Priyank Kishore, IAS who took care of all logistics and other related works on behalf of the District.
