In a bid to encourage farmers and boost agriculture productivity, Lunglei South MLA & Vice-Chairman, Bamboo Development Board Dr K Pachhunga organized an award program for successful farmers in his constituency. The award ceremony was held at the Synod Conference Hall, Salem Veng, Lunglei yesterday. 

The top 3 highest producers of rice in Lunglei S AC during the last harvesting season were awarded with 1st prize - Scooty, 2nd prize - Fridge, 3rd prize - Washing Machine.

Speaking at the award ceremony, Dr K Pachhunga paid his respects to the successful farmers, and expressed hope that such award programs would go a long way in encouraging the farming community at large. He called upon the farmers to be progressive and innovative, and to always seek out necessary assistance and guidance from the concerned Government Departments as and when required. 

Pu K Lalrohlua, Additional DC Lunglei, Pu Malsawmkima, District Agriculture Officer and Pu H.Lalthansanga, President, MJA Lunglei also spoke at the ceremony.
