Champhai, 26th January, 2022:  Along with other parts of the country, the 73rd Indian Republic Day was celebrated in Champhai at Jericho Garden, Keifangtlang near DC's Bungalow, this morning.

Pi Maria C.T. Zuali, Deputy Commissioner, Champhai District, who was the Chief Guest on the occasion, unfurled the national flag and delivered the Republic Day Speech.

Speaking on the occasion, Pi Maria C.T. Zuali  lauded the sincere efforts put in by the farmers who have excelled and motivated others, she  also mentioned some farmers' names and congratulated them. Highlighting the enormous potential of the district to attain self-sufficiency, she urged the people to follow rules and regulations laid by the government and cherish the rich cultural heritage and natural beauty of the land.

Also the Deputy Commissioner highly appreciated the contributions of MLAs', and the collaboration of  A.H&Vety. Department, Police and Assam Rifles for successfully containing dreaded porcine disease called African Swine Fever (ASF) in the District.
