REC CSR supports Mamit, in the state of Mizoram, one of the 115 aspiration districts for transforming school education in government schools, and improvement of health services in government health facilities.

REC Limited, A Government of India, Navratna Enterprise, committed financial assistance of about Rs 20.63 Cr under CSR initiative.

Activities in the area of education are, to bring about 532 out of school children back to the school; training 912 teachers in the district to improve learning outcome through specially engaged master trainers; 20 schools will pilot smart classes; providing literacy to over 4000 women who are illiterate; providing water filters to 245 primary schools and increasing water supply services in 144 higher secondary school, biometric tracking machine for tracking teachers attendance; bench, desk, black/ green boards etc. for Government schools.

Various interventions will be done in the government health facilities, in 41 Primary Sub Centres, nine Primary Health Centres, one Community Health Centre and one District hospital. Renovation & construction in 30 of these health facilities; procurement of 11 mobile medical vans for PHC, CHC and District hospital; One advanced life support for district hospital; 11 ‘medical kit’ consisting of 32 medical test facilities; telemedicine for all 52 government medical facilities; birth attendant training for 20 health workers; treatment support to TB patients; skilling 84 male and female workers to attend for medical support at village level.

The Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) in this regard was executed between REC Foundation and DC Mamit on 28.11.2019. Dr. S N Srinivas, CEO, REC Foundation, New Delhi and Dr. Lalrozama, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, Mamit district, Mizoram signed the MoA in presence of Shri Ajeet Kumar Agarwal, CMD, Shri S K Gupta, Director (Tech), and Shri Ajoy Chowdhary, ED Finance & CSR, REC Limited.
