Champhai District Task Force for Immunization (DTFI) held meeting today at DC Office presided over by its Chairman Pu S.L Naveen IAS, Deputy Commissioner Champhai. The meeting was held to discuss on the preparation for Intensified Mission Indradhanust (IMI) 2.0 and the subsequent events following vaccination.
Stressing that getting proper and full course vaccination at scheduled time is very crucial for the health of Children and pregnant women, the Chairman urged all the targeted population to come out and get themselves properly vaccinated. Also the Chairman appreciated all the partakers and line departments for their mutual cooperation and asked them to continue in the coming days.
The meeting decided to launch Intensified Mission Indradhanust (IMI) 2.0 for undivided Champhai district on December 2, 2019 at CMO Conference Hall which will be immediately followed by first round vaccination programme at different Health Sub Centres and Health Sub-Clinics in the district. The scheduled Vaccination programmes are on December 2, 2019 and January 6, February 3, March 2, 2020. Head count and microplan are being conducted and underway, the vaccines and required facilities are expected to arrive Champhai on last week of November, 2019. Also the meeting mentioned that each vaccination Centre will be well equipped with Adverse Events Following Immunization (AEFI) Kid to prevent the possible effects caused by Vaccination. The Committee earnestly requested all the targeted group and public to support the good cause and make it a successful programme.
According to District Task Force for Immunization (DTFI) undivided Champhai District has a record of 5460 below two years old population and 1525 pregnant women. The Intensified Mission Indradhanust (IMI) 2.0 aims to get fully immunized Children below two years and Pregnant women who are drop out, left out or non-immunized, to improve and better coverage of immunization activities, which were missed out by the first Intensified Mission Indradhanust conducted during April-September 2019, wherein 1006 children got fully immunized, amounting 40.9% of the targeted population.
Mission Indradhanush is a health mission of the Government of India launched on 25 December 2014. It is operational in five Districts of the State; Champhai, Kolasib, Lawngtlai, Lunglei and Mamit. Different Vaccines for Children below two years like Oral Polio Vaccine, Pentavalent Vaccine, Fractional Inactive Polio Vaccine, Bacillus Calmette Guerin Vaccine, Measles Rubella Vaccine, Rota Virus Vaccine and Vaccine for Pregnant Women like Tetanus and Diptheria Vaccine are given at proper dosage on scheduled time.
