Lawngtlai, the 21st April, 2021: The District Level Task Force on COVID-19 (DLTF), Lawngtlai District held its meeting today at DC's Conference Hall, Lawngtlai in connection with the restrictions being imposed within Mizoram w.e.f. 4:00 a.m. of 20.04.2021 to 4:00 a.m. of 26.04.2021 for the prevention and containment of COVID-19 outbreak second wave.

The meeting was chaired by Dr Andrew H. Vanlaldika, Deputy Commissioner and Chairman of DLTF. Dr LP Malsawma, Chief Medical Officer and Member Secretary of DLTF gave a status report of Lawngtlai District in respect of testing and positive cases.

After all 340 COVID-19 positive patients of Lawngtlai District had been cured and the last of them released from IR CCC, Thingkah on 28th February, 2021, 2 new positive cases have been detected on 9th April, 2021 as the second wave. Currently, there are 51 positive patients within Lawngtlai District, 48 of which are admitted into IR CCC, Thingkah and 3 are admitted into Chawngte CCC. There is one containment zone within Lawngtlai District, namely, Borkolok village where active case search by medical team has been being carried out.
