A meeting of Lawngtlai District Level Co-ordination Committee on National Deworming Day was held today at the DC's Conference Hall, Lawngtlai under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Dr Andrew H. Vanlaldika.

In the meeting, it was reported that National Deworming Day was observed twice every year in the months of February and August where deworming tablet, Albendazole was administered to children between 1 and 19 years old. This year's National Deworming Day February Round is to be observed during 22nd to 26th February, 2021. Unlike previous years, it is decided to administer the deworming tablets to the beneficiaries at their doorsteps this round as schools and anganwadi centres remain closed due to COVID-19 pandemic. There are 50,311 targetted beneficiaries within Lawngtlai District for NDD February Round.
