A District Level Committee meeting on celebration of the upcoming 71st Republic Day, 2020 was held today at the DC’s Meeting Hall, Serchhip under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Pu Chuauhnuna.

Important matters pertaining to the celebration of the Republic Day were discussed in the meeting. The meeting resolved to organise the celebration at Khawtetlang Playground and since the Day falls on Sunday, ceremonial function will start at 7:00 AM. Deputy Commissioner is expected to be the Chief Guest of the celebration programme. Like previous years, there will be a ceremonial parade by unarmed, school and band party contingents. Prizes will be given away to parade contingents and judges.

The national flag shall be hoisted in all government offices, institutions and quarters on the Day. Gifts will be given to Homes, jail and hospitals, and volleyball tournament will be organised in association with the celebration of the Republic Day.
