A District Level Committee meeting on celebration of the upcoming 71st Republic Day was held yesterday at the DC's Conference Hall, Lawngtlai under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Pi Shashanka Ala, IAS.

Important matters pertaining to the celebration of the Republic Day were discussed in the meeting. The meeting resolved to organise the celebration at CYLA Playground and since the Day falls on Sunday, ceremonial function will start at 8 AM. Like previous years, there will be a ceremonial parade by armed, unarmed, school and band party contingents. Prizes will be given away to parade contingents and judges.

The national flag shall be hoisted in all government offices, institutions and quarters on the Day. Gifts will be given to child care institution, jail and hospitals, and volleyball and badminton tournaments will be organised in association with the celebration of the Republic Day.
