Alongwith the rest of the country, Members of the current Mizoram Legislative Assembly cast their votes for the Presidential Election 2012 at the Committee Room of the Assembly House in Aizawl today. All the 40 MLAs finished casting their votes in the forenoon itself, Brig T Sailo, the oldest MLA was the first to cast the vote.

The Observer for the Presidential Election Shri Rajiv Kumar IAS, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Finance, Government of India and the two Assistant Returning Officers – Shri Ngurthanzuala, Assembly Secretary and Shri Vanlalnghena Additional Secretary, Mizoram Assembly Secretariat ensured the smooth conduct of the Election in Mizoram.

The value of the vote of each MLA of Mizoram Legislative Assembly is 8 votes and the total value of votes of all the MLAs and MPs across the country is 10,98,882.

The Ballot Box will be kept under tight security tonight at the Strong Room of the Aizawl Treasury and will be flown to Delhi tomorrow.
